Lineage: tape from trade (unknown generation) > PC line-in (HP portable built-in soundcard) > Audacity (volume adjustments) > Track splits in CDWav > FLAC level 6.

This is a recording mainly for completists/collectors. I got this tape via trade back in the mid 90's, and have only done minor work on the recording when transferring to digital format. Hopefully there is a better copy around - I have an mp3 copy that's made from a better sounding tape, but my hope is that a better lossless copy will appear, as an upgrade to this one.

This show is from Bruce's first ever visit to Europe, and the second show here. The London shows of november 18 and 24 are well-documented, this one is more rare.

SBD: FM -> CD-R Trade (unknown gen) -> EAC (see logs) -> FLAC(8)

Notes: Excellent FM broadcast from Energy 99 in Monterrey.  The only problem is that they
are extremely aggressive in reminding the listeners what they're listening to, so the
logo phrase pops right up in the middle of some songs, sometimes more than once per track.
Other than that, a great show; Robert seems to really be enjoying himself between tracks
(despite dodging crazed fan's objects of flight).  Pitch may be just a bit slower than it
should be.

Monsters of Rock 1988: Iron Maiden/David Lee Roth/Kiss/Anthrax/Helloween/Great White

Great show and recording from the 1988 European Monsters of Rock tour. All bands will be posted

except Helloween, unfortuantely i didn't get that one from Tommy.

Another set of shows i'm sharing from one of my oldest trading buddies, Tommy Guasp (some of you may know him as Damien).

Unfortuantely i lost contact with him somewhere around 2000/2001 and have been trying to re-connect ever since. If anyone out there

has any idea where or how to contact him please PM me and let me know or let him know i'm trying to track him down. Some of my other

taping friends have had contact as recent as a couple of years ago but they also lost contact and haven't been able to find him. So if anyone

out there can help that would be very much appreciated.

As for his recordings, they are also some of the best. He was very much into the melodic rock stuff like Bon Jovi, Journey, Foreigner stuff

like that but he also taped just about everything that came through Paris. He did a lot of traveling to shows as well throughout Europe so

i've got a lot of his shows to share from all over the place.

Enjoy!

Brian.

Remastered by Metal Thrashing Mad 2011-04-19

This was my very first Metallica show, and I have to first say that I am eternally grateful to "The Govner" for not only taping this show
but also the other two Metallica shows that I saw in Cincy and Dayton, OH later on in 1992 and 1993. I am forever in debt to him for his efforts.

I must admit that I have never taped a show and I probably never will. I am far too picky and would probably throw the thing away at the
earliest sign of a mistake or flaw in my recording. I would certainly never release it unless it was perfection. Needless to say I would not make a good
bootlegger. I'm far more acceptable of and grateful for the work of others than I am of my own. I can only image how hard it is to do this.

So believe me, my decision to remaster this is in no way is a negative toward what was done by Jerry B back in 1992.He certainly sacrificed some of his show
experience that night and many others so that we could have these shows live on for eternity.I respect the fact that most tapers put their stuff out in raw
form, many of them asking that it not be retouched. So I hope that if this copy ever gets back to Jerry, he understands.

I remastered this knowing that there was something just a little better that could be brought out from the original recording. It was there, just a little
hidden. The source tape was obviously very good just as all of Jerr's stuff is. But a little muffled, and there were some minor touchups that could be done to
make the sound a little sharper and give it a little more life. I did not want to dig deeper and butcher Jerry's work. So after a little EQ throughout and
couple of other minor tweaks, here we have it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Cheers!

Notes: The last show with Roth on the first go around with Van Halen as the band plays the Monsters of Rock festival with AC/DC - which topped the bill - and others. This is really good show and the crowd is into it....altho I do remember seeing some video of the gig where Roth was dodging missiles from the audience...maybe just part of the 1980s festival gigs!

The band appeared very relaxed and happy. The sound from the balcony was wonderful; Steve Howe's guitar very prominent, but the keyboards were louder than my previous experiences hearing this lineup. The biggest problem with the sound was lack of bass. You'll have to EQ the heck out of it if you want to hear Chris Squires' bass like other Yes concerts. The loud hissing you'll hear towards the end of Perpetual Change is the confetti cannons going off, apparently my mics were pointed almost straight at one of them. There was one A**hole whistler who managed to make his presence known. There is also some clipping, especially during the 2nd set. It hasn't kept me from listening to it again and again, but then I'm prejudiced.
