Judas Priest
Cow3 Palace
San Francisco, CA
October 8, 1988
16 bit version
Taper: Karl Lundmark
Gear: Aiwa mic > Sony D3
1st generation tapes mailed to }{eywood for mastering by Rush-Fan
Lineage: 2 TDK SA60 60 cassettes (1) > Optimus SCT-57 playback deck > Adobe Audition 1.5 (recording at 24/96, speed correction, peak limiting, splits & fades) > Xrecode II (conversion to 16/44.1) > TLH (sector alignment, flac 8)
Although this show may be circulating already, most collectors have unknown generation copies. Rush-Fan has provided me with many first gens of Priest shows (he traded with the taper), and I am dutifully bringing them to a wider audience.
This is a direct transfer from the cassettes. Minimal signal processing was done after the transfer. Tape flip patch in The Sentinel was fasioned by relocating parts from elsewhere in the track. Patch in Some Heads is from the following night in Sacramento.
A fantastic show. I cannot rave enough about the 88 tour. Halford at his peak, night after night. I have over 20 shows from that tour, all over the world, and haven't come across a mediocre one yet. This is no exception.
The Birmingham soundcheck on here was on the tape, so I left it as a bonus.
