Brunette were a Glam Rock band formed out of the LA Rock Scene in 1987 by brothers Johnny Gioeli and Joey Gioeli (Now of Hardline fame although Joey has retired from Music all together), who were originally in their earliest band Killerhit. They began to have a considerable amount of success with the reputation of their hair and live shows.
They cut many demos during the late 80s but never had managed to get a record contract. But they did manage to hire a plane with a poster of their band saying "Brunette Attacks August" with tour dates.
A unpublished motion picture film was also produced, called Smash, Crash and Burn about a troubled local band who wanted to make it big but the film never saw the light of day due to "legal reasons", but according to Johnny Gioeli he did not want the film to be released (although according to online sources the movie did play in Korean cinemas at the time).
Just before the band were about to have a record contract they decided to split in 1991 and Johnny + Joey Gioeli later formed Hardline in 1992.
