Band: Whitesnake
Venue: Stadthalle
City: Wien/Vienna
Country: Austria
Date: Wednesday, 29th June 2011
Bootleg Title: Here we go forevermore
Taper: HighVoltage
Recording Equipment: Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder
Mic Position: fixed at belt buckle, underneath T-shirt
Location: about 10 m from the stage, middle
Recorder Settings: Mic Sens low, Low Cut off, Mic Zoom Set Standard
Tour: Forevermore Tour
Audience: about 6000
Acts: Thin Lizzy > WHITESNAKE > Judas Priest
Lineage: Olympus LS-10 (PCM WAV 44.1kHz/16bit) (internal Mics) , -> PC -> Nero Wave Editor -> FLAC Level 6
Edits: general volume adaption, equalizer, cut out a few short bits of audience screams or quiet parts between songs, fade-in & fade out, track split, flac level 6
Special Notes:
Not a full set from Whitesnake, who were supporting/co-headlining with Judas Priest on their Epitaph tour. The Stadthalle was far from sold out, with almost all of the seats on the left and right curtained off, only the back seats were filled, which surprised me a bit, given the lineup...
After 'Give me all your Love' David welcomes the crowd with "Nice to see you all smiling" and later "We have a bunch of songs for ya, we better make some fucking moves up here, let's sing this one together". Introducing stuff from the new 'Forevermore' album, he says "Some of you may know, and some of you may not, that we... we have a new album...and we are very, very... very happy about it...We got a song for you that Mr. Doug Aldrich will introduce to you, on the instrument of the devil, the slide Guitar!". Before 'Forevermore' he says "Uh, look...look what we got... Whitesnake furniture...nice piece of shit, all the way from Birmingham!" (and then some drunken guy bawls something I can't understand).."and this is styled perfectly to fit Doug Aldrich's finely sculpted ass ... just a treat!". Before the Guitar Duel he says "Vienna, say hello to Mr. Doug Aldrich and Mr. Reb Beach!", and before the impressive (you gotta see it!) Drum Solo "Vienna, say hello to Mr. Brian Tichy!". Before 'Here I go again' kicks in, David shouts, as usual, "Light 'em up, Jason (?!)! Make some fuckin' noise, Vienna!"
How to identify my recording: At the beginning of 'Love ain't no Stranger' someone yells "Ahh", and then says the song title.
