Of the four Astonishing shows I've been lucky to see, this one I think is the best in terms of performance and smoothness. This October run the band is more comfortable with the material and everything is very tight. James especially is better and more consistent during this run of shows. I can't sing his praises enough on this album and the subsequent tour. This is very vocally demanding stuff, they're doing it every night, and unlike prior DT shows, there is really only one instrumental break where James can chill for a few minutes (the New Beginning JP solo). The rest of the band was fantastic as always.

I can see why The Astonishing has polarized some DT fans but for me, I absolutely love it and think it contains some of their best moments. If you like the album, I suggest checking out this show as well as the Boston and Chicago shows from April. This performance is a little better than Boston and as good as Chicagos. This recording is very good as I was Orchestra Center and right in the middle, not under the overhang. Also sounds very good cranked. I will also be posting a different source for 10/18 Worcester and 4/20 Wallingford eventually.

Many thank yous to Dream Theater for an awesome show, for doing another leg of The Astonishing, and the PRRP Guy for his masterful mastering of the recording.

Also included are pictures of the program and the marquee outside the venue.

Line Up:
James LaBrie - Vocals
John Petrucci - Guitar
John Myung - Bass
Jordan Rudess - Keyboard
Mike Mangini - Drums
