Filming Notes:
I've seen Poison perform close to ten times now. It's usually not planned either. I just happen to want to see a band and Poison ends up being the opener. That is not a negative either, because I know what to expect from these guys and they have rarely (if ever) disappointed. Nashville is clearly one of Bret's favorite places to play and the crowd is really into them everytime they come. I had seen them last summer with Motley Crue and was astounded at how loud the crowd was that show. So this year was pretty much the same except their show was toned down a bit with not much in the way of pyro. Everybody was playing great but I did notice that Bret's voice appeared to be a bit hoarse. Still, he got through it and had the same usual energy he always has. CC had a terrific solo as did Rikki Rocket. The band played the beginning and end music to Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" for the solo which I thought was pretty cool.
Nashville tends to get surprised during shows because of all the music people in the area. The surprise came during the final song when Brian Nutter (guitar player from Keith Urban's band) came out with a guitar during "Nothin' But A Good Time" and rocked out with the boys! It was another good set by Poison and got everyone ready for the headliner - Def Leppard.
Enjoy!
