A.R.M.S. Concert - 1983-11-28 - Dallas, TX (HQ AUD)

A.R.M.S. Concerts 1983 - Back to Back - #1: Stricken by multiple sclerosis, Ronnie Lance, the ex-bassist for both the Small Faces and Faces, organized a charity concert the Royal Albert Hall in London on September 20, 1983 to raise money to combat the disease. The show featured a star-studded line-up of British musicians, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, Andy Fairweather Low, Bill Wyman, Kenny Jones and Charlie Watts. Lane appeared at the end of the show to thank the audience and the musicians, then took the  vocals on the closing tune, Goodnight Irene. The concert marked the first time Clapton, Beck and Page, each a former lead guitarist for The Yardbirds, performed together on stage. That initial concert was so successful that it spawned 9 additional shows, all in the US.  Winwood could not make those shows, so Joe Cocker  took his place. This high quality audience recording captures the first US date, in Dallas, on November 28, 1983, 35 years ago today.  Download this one, then come back tomorrow for part 2 of this set.  NOTE - FULL DISCLOSURE - the sound on these 2 ARMS shows is a bit below our normal quality standards here at So Many, but the concerts are so historic, and fit perfectly with our theme, that we decided to post them.
