Earlier this month we brought you Elvis Costello's 2013 set at the Bridge School Benefit. Since Costello has been a frequent guest at the Bridge School, we figured we should bring you another show from the former Declan Patrick Aloysius Macmanus. This FM broadcast features Elvis with Burt Bacharach in London on October 29, 1998, 18 years ago today. In early 1997 Elvis began working with songwriting legend Burt Bacharach on a song, God Give Me Strength, for the soundtrack for the film Grace of My Heart.. The collaboration was so successful that they recorded an album together, entitled Painted By Memory. The duo also recorded a version of Bacharach's I'll Never Fall In Love again for the 2nd Austin Powers movie (go here to see their guest spot in the film). They also played a limited series of concerts together, including this one. Unfortunately, the BBC broadcast only captures part of the concert, missing out on a host of medleys of Bacharach's classics.
